Whether you’re a history buff or a nature lover, there’s something for you to enjoy in Lenoir, North Carolina. From the world’s largest data storage facility to the oldest county seat, the city has a lot to offer visitors. The town offers museums, parks, and outdoor activities for all ages.

While Lenoir’s top attractions include Fort Defiance and the Caldwell Heritage Museum, there are many more things to do in the city. You can go fishing in Granite Falls, explore the city’s historic downtown, or take a tour of the Twisted Vine Winery. Besides these popular destinations, you may also want to take a look at the nearby Lenoir Art Festival. The festival is free to the public and is held annually on Saturday after Labor Day. Sculptors from around the country come to Lenoir to compete in the event. The event is sponsored by local businesses and is a great way to learn more about the area.

The Lenoir Art Festival also offers an interactive art experience for the entire family. The Foothills Visual Artists Guild will present art activities for children during the event. You can also see the largest earthcast sculpture in Lenoir, “Across the Grain,” by Thomas Sayre. This sculpture was created in downtown Lenoir, and reflects the town’s rich craft heritage.

While you’re visiting Lenoir, you’ll want to explore the city’s Greenway, which is a massive network of trails. This trail offers a variety of opportunities for hiking, biking, and walking. It also connects to other areas of the city, including the Lenoir Aquatic and Fitness Center and the Lenoir Rotary Soccer Complex. The trail is paved, ADA accessible, and convenient to park. You can even catch a performance at the festival by Puddingstone, a local band.
