Incredible Century Cycling Challenge 2 0 0 6

click to enlarge September 17, 2006

Thanks to all who participated in the 2006 ride. The weather was perfect, and we hope you had a beautiful ride.

The ride is planned for the third Sunday in September each year. Please read the information below for information on the ride. If you have questions about the ride, email cathy@caldwellcochamber.org. Within a few days of the email, check back at this site for an answer if you don't receive a personal response. If you have the question, others might as well. Understand that not all emails will receive a personal response, but I will do all I can to make ride information available. Try to avoid calling the Chamber office since no one but me can answer your questions, and I am rarely available to answer or return phone calls.

Ride results
I hope to receive the results in a file that I can clean up for the riders who switched late, or who have misspellings, but here is the link to the original results.

Finish line photos-Proceeds to Fund for Scott Bush Family
Due to some riders requesting finish line photos, below is a link to Grandfather Summit finish photos organized by time. The digibug site allows you to purchase cups, mousepads, shirts, etc., along with photos. Keep in mind, not all riders were photographed, because when some of the riders hit the finish line, they were FINISHED. They stopped on the mats until a large group had piled up, then they moved on, so some of the photos are not of individuals. Check back if your photos are on yet - he is adding photos a little at a time. The last rider time he photographed was 7:48:27. My husband was the photographer, and a precentage of the sales will go to the Fund for Scott Bush Family. Cathy Rhuberg

Heft on Wheels By Mike Magnuson - MIKE WAS BACK!
Bridge to Bridge rider Mike Magnuson has published a book with tons of info on The Bridge. Some of you might remember his article from Bicycling Magazine July 2003. Much of Mike's Bridge to Bridge story is chronicled in his book "Heft on Wheels." The book features the wild and rainy Bridge to Bridge 2002 and the tamer version of the ride -- Bridge to Bridge 2003. Mike talks about his transformation into the fit rider he is today from a true couch potato. Inspirational, funny and he mentions me -- so I highly recommend this book! Cathy Rhuberg, Ride Director

Blue Ridge Parkway
A wonderful asset to our area, and a fabulous partner to our organization. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a great element of the ride. As the Bridge to Bridge has reached the limit set by the Parkway, riders need to be that much more considerate of the Parkway rules. Single file, NO LITTERING and NEVER cross the yellow line. This applies to the entire route, but on the Parkway take special care to obey the rules and the Rangers. Riding the Blue Ridge Parkway is a priveldge that can easily be lost if riders dispobey the rules.

The Bridge to Bridge is the third Sunday in September. Please mark your calendars.
